Blanco
This spring’s Running of the Bulls party at the Mercado San Agustin drew a lovely crowd dressed in white with dashes of red. Chatting with other attendees, we concluded that most of us have a small or non-existent white wardrobe. Most of the people I spoke with acquired their outfits at thrift stores the previous day.
Plan ahead for next year’s events that call for white clothes (such as the worldwide delight of Noche en Blanco), as St. Vincent de Paul on 18th St and Stone/6th Avenue (Five Points) had limited options available for my 11th hour shopping trip. I did manage to outfit most of our family quite well though. Our daughter, in particular, looked like a sugarplum in her white dress.
